Brief History of the Department (Historyand Brief activities taken up by the Department)
The post lecturer in History has been sanctioned on permanent basis in 1970 in G.O.Ms No.594 dated 17.03.1970. Sanctioned posts Two. Since then the department has actively receiving good number of student especially in History.

While admitting the students to 3 year degree classes special coaching have been taken up to make the students to get seats in the university in the department of History because of this effort many
At times in course of teaching informal Quiz Programmes and Debates were conducted to inculcate the habit of reading books and journals and latest History events.
Among the students committee this habit enhances the class room learning and makes the students commitment in all activities.

Staff Composition
Out of Two posts at present one lecturer isworking as regular and other one is working as guest facult in this institution. The conventional courses we offering in History are
HEP (History, Economics, Politics)
In each conventional Telugu medium course every year
HEP – (History, Economics, Politics)
THP (Telugu, History, Political Science)
HET (History,Economics,and Tourismand Travel Management)
TEACHING PRACTICES
Every year we prepare academic plans. Every staff member will follow the plan for completion of syllabus. The department of History take up regular teaching, seminars and Assignments monthly tests or slip tests, group discussion, Quiz and debates as teaching practices.
Students are divided in to 3 types for bright students of BA I, 11, III year seminars are given for average students assignments are given and below average who scored less than 45% to 50% special coaching or remedial coaching was given. Guest lectures also arranged regularly at least two in a year.
After admissions, students are as sensed in the classes by asking questions in the qualifying examinations continuous evaluation is done tests, assignment etc., Question banks and number of model papers are made available in the department for ready reference of the students.
The completed topics will be revised at the end of the year after the completion the whole syllabus.
